What to include in a freelance project quote
A useful quote does more than name a price. It gives the client a compact, readable view of the result, the work, the boundaries, and what happens next.
Lead with the outcome
Begin with the change the project is meant to deliver, written as an observable finished state. Keep it specific enough that both sides can recognize completion without promising a business result you cannot control.
List deliverables with quantities
Name each included deliverable and attach a count or limit: pages, concepts, interviews, integrations, templates, migration records, environments, or training sessions. If a buyer could reasonably interpret the item two ways, add one more sentence.
Show the price and its assumptions
State the project price, currency, included expenses, and any taxes or third-party costs that are separate. Record the assumptions behind the estimate, such as timely access, one nominated reviewer, or client-supplied copy.

Put boundaries beside the offer
Include the most relevant exclusions, the number of feedback rounds, how consolidated feedback will arrive, and what counts as a direction change. These details should be visible before acceptance, not introduced after a disagreement.
Make acceptance and payment unambiguous
State how long the quote remains valid, the intended schedule, payment milestones, and the action that confirms acceptance. After acceptance, place the agreed commercial summary beside terms appropriate to the work and jurisdiction.
